Consulting Experience

Steven has over 20 years of industry experience and has held positions with a number of specialist heritage consulting firms and with both the Federal and Victorian governments Aboriginal Heritage organizations. He has extensive experience in all facets of Aboriginal archaeology and cultural heritage management including the conduct and management of archaeological survey, testing and salvage programs, artefact analysis, Indigenous consultation, professional advice, formal presentations and the preparation of reports, records and contingency plans. Steven has implemented and managed the assessment, investigation and liaison required for both large and small projects for mining, pipelines, roads, rail and urban developments.

With substantial experience in resource extraction and large infrastructure development projects, in WA, Victoria and NSW, Steven has also implemented or supervised extensive construction monitoring and salvage programs for a number of major infrastructure projects, including the Wodonga Bypass Rail Project (VIC), Eastern Gas Pipeline (NSW), Goldfield Gas Transmission Pipeline (WA) and the Queensland/NSW Electricity Interconnector. This exposure to operational mining and construction projects allows Steven to provide credible advice and options to ensure that projects are delivered.

As a Cultural Heritage Advisor in Victoria he has supervised, authored and contributed to numerous approved Cultural Heritage Management Plans (CHMPs).
