Consulting Experience

Josara has been working in consulting archaeology in Australia since 2003, mainly in the fields of stone artefact analysis, database management, report preparation and mapping. Her current role is that of Geographic Information Systems Manager at Andrew Long and Associates Pty Ltd, overseeing the company�s GIS-based mapping, spatial analyses and predictive modelling. She also conducts stone artefact analyses and is involved in occasional fieldwork and in the preparation of reports, including Cultural Heritage Management Plans and salvage reports. Josara mentors several GIS staff and provides tutoring in GIS and artefact analysis to the company team. She is currently involved in the development of the Victorian Digital Archaeological Data Archive, which is a collaborative effort between various heritage consultancies, aimed at improving access to digital archaeological data in order to facilitate cross?project comparisons, landscape approaches, data mining initiatives and regional mapping and predictive modelling projects.
