Consulting Experience

I am the managing director, founder and executive archaeologist for Archae-aus.

I have a first class honours degree in prehistoric and historic archaeology from the University of Sydney. My career in Indigenous cultural heritage management began in 1990 in New South Wales. Since that time I have worked in South Australia, Queensland, Northern Territory and the Philippines, with the majority of my fieldwork experience occurring in the Pilbara, Goldfields, Kimberley and South-West regions of Western Australia.

I am actively involved in the professional archaeological community where I am a full member of the Australian Association of Consulting Archaeologists (AACAI) and am currently the Associations National President. I am also the Vice-President of the WA Chapter of AACAI. I am also an Adjunct Lecturer in the Archaeology Department at the University of Western Australia. I served a two year term as secretary of the Australian Archaeological Association from 2005-2007 and as Membership Secretary for AACAI in 2004-2005. I am a member of the Australian Institute of Managing Directors and was a WA finalist in the 2011 Telstra Business Women’s Awards.

In addition, I regularly present papers at international and Australian conferences and have a few published articles that I try to write while running Archae-aus and looking after my family. I am also a published archaeological illustrator. I have a wide ranging interest in hunter-forager archaeology with special focus on landscape use, hunter-forager stone arrangements and the development of hunter-forager textiles
